Senate Hopeful and Crypto Lawyer John Deaton Supports Coinbase in SEC Battle

John Deaton, a crypto lawyer currently vying for a Senate seat against Elizabeth Warren, has filed a brief supporting Coinbase in its appeal against the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In a filing dated April 26 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, John Deaton lodged an amicus brief backing a motion for interlocutory appeal on behalf of 4,701 Coinbase customers. The document, filed pro bono, aims to advocate for the interests of these customers rather than the exchange itself.
